Who we are?
We Are Ablest. A Studio built on Storytelling.
Ablest was born in 2024 from a simple but stubborn belief – that audio storytelling deserves so much more. Based in Podgorica, Montenegro, we are a small but dedicated team of eight – writers, sound designers, actors, directors and producers – all united by a love for great storytelling. With a team rooted in radio and film, we know what it takes to make sound truly cinematic. Since our founding we have completed our first major project abook, produced a growing library of children’s tales and audiobooks, and contributed to the feature film ‘Happiness is Just a Blue Couch Away’. Our studio is small, but it grows a little every day – and so does our ambition.
Our journey began with two people and an idea rooted in a personal need – a better
way to experience stories. In 2024, the Fund for Innovation of Montenegro recognized
our vision and supported the development of abook, and again in late 2025 for
continuous startup development and proof of concept. With the backing of the Ministry
of Culture and the Secretariat for Sport and Culture of the Capital City, we gained the
recognition and momentum to dive deeper into audio production – and we haven’t
looked back since.
What started as two people with a dream has grown into a team of eight passionate
creatives, each bringing their own unique perspective and skills to the table. Together
we develop and produce audiobooks, children’s tales and venture into film and media
production. Alongside our own projects, our production team is always on the lookout
for interesting ideas and people to work with – if you have a story worth telling, we want
to be the ones to help you tell it.

Audio Production
Every audio project at Ablest begins long before the microphone is switched on. We dive deep into the literary work, analyzing its meaning and exploring interpretations before a single word is recorded. Our dramaturg works closely with the text, adjusting and shaping it where needed, while our actors are carefully prepared to bring each character to life. Recording sessions are followed by a meticulous sound design process – building a complete audio
world layer by layer, through multiple revisions until every detail is exactly right. We do this for every title on our own platform – and we bring the exact same process to projects that come to us from outside. If you have a book, a script or an idea for an audio project, our team is ready to take it on and see it through, whether it ends up on abook or anywhere else.

Film & Media Production
Our roots are in film. With degrees in production and directing from the Academy of Drama Arts and years of experience across short films, features and media projects, we know this world inside and out. When we take on a project we become fully immersed in it – working out every detail in preproduction before a single frame is shot, staying organized and focused throughout, and always making the most of the budget we are given. Through our network of trusted colleagues across every sector of film and media production, we can assemble the right team for virtually any kind of project – whether it’s an arthouse film, a short, a feature, an animated piece, a music video, a podcast, a commercial or content for social media. Big or small, we treat every project with the same dedication and intention. If you have a vision, we have the people to make it happen.
